so i can finish my spanish project.

The TAMBORA (this instrument is traditionally played with the drum on the lap and hit with a beater (stick) on one end and a bare hand on the other. The GUIRO (is the instrument that gives a raspy sound with bright overtones, and is one of the driving rhythmic forces in a Merengue band. The BONGOS & CONGAS are essential and help of course to carry the tune. Some of the other instruments are the PIANO, BASS, TRUMPETS, an ACCORDIAN and some like to incorporate an ELECTRIC GUITAR. These are some of the instruments that are used, but not limited to. And a whole lot of energy.

Good Luck !!

I need some bachata and merengue and salsa songs for my choreography for my quince.
Anyone know any good ones? preferably new?
My quinces in November 2009!

I like Micaela by Sonora Carruseles for Salsa. It’s been around for a while, but it’s a fun song.

But yeah for Salsa and Bachata. Two big thumbs up. And have a happy birthday and have fun.

I posted this before and no one responded, probably because it’s too long, so please, if you have the time, just help me out maybe with one of the three main paragraphs of what I’m translating. Thank you =)
————————————–

Here is the original:

My translation:
"
1.) I like to listen to all kinds of music and yes, I like to dance! But I don’t know how to very well :S but yeah I love it!! I think the same about dancing in pairs, it’s very pretty when they know how. I like to dance salsa, merengue, cumbia, techno… hmm and also raggaeton a little bit. I dropped photography because I took a lot of subjects, and photography takes a lot of time haha but I will take your advice of taking photos of monkeys haha it’s very funny :)

2.) Your class sounds very interesting, never would I have imagined that in economic they teach that, what a shame that you never get to play the games :( … What are your favorite board games? I like Risk, Life, chess, and Uno.

3.) Ahh! I had forgotten to tell you, I’m already in Costa Rica! And I already begun my classes, all of them are interesting, I like them :) All of them are theoretical. I have one called "bionica," and it’s design inspired by nature, it’s very pretty! In the intro to this class, we looked at robots as an example, because they are pure bionics (like the bionic man or woman), and we watched a video about androids, it scares me!! Because they appear real, but they move like robots. I couldn’t believe that already existed, it scares me.

later, have a good one!"

Please make corrections, even if they are very specific ones. I had some trouble with the last full paragraph, especially with its last sentence, about the androids and all. Make every correction! Even if I translated something correctly, but its exact meaning was lost in my translation.

Thank you :)

I gotta tell you that your translation is perfect. Even the last paragraph. I read back forth between the original and your translation and I couldn’t find anything to correct.

There is something I do want to add though. The phrase "es bonito" literally, as you know, it means "it’s pretty." But often times that phrase is used to mean something like "it’s nice." Just letting you know!

Muy bien hecho! Le felicito por su buena habilidad. ^__^

ha ha ha it’s a joke right?

im trying to learn how to dance and i dont have a clue from where to start from…….:)

you can look in google
perfectpointe.com has ballet, jazz, tap, and hip-hop
Perfect Pointe is in Arlington, which is super close to DC cause i live in Arlington and my dad’s work is in DC

The cake that I’m looking for is the one that you would normally get in Miami for a birthday. I don’t live in Miami anymore and they don’t have cuban bakeries where I live. I’ve looked all over the internet and can’t find the recipe for this particular type of cake.

I found it but in different recipes: hope this helps

To make the sweet Cuban cake:

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/4 cup unsweetened coconut milk
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, at room temperature
2 tbsp rum (optional)

METHOD:

Preheat the oven to 350°. Butter and flour a 9-by-2-inch round cake pan. In a medium bowl, sift the cake flour with the baking powder, baking soda and salt. In another bowl, combine the buttermilk with the coconut milk, rum and vanilla.
In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the butter until creamy. Add the sugar and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. At low speed, beat in the dry ingredients in 3 batches, alternating with the buttermilk mixture.

Scrape the batter into the prepared pan and lightly smooth the surface. Bake for about 40 minutes, or until the cake is golden and a tester inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the cake cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then invert it onto a wire rack and let cool completely. Wrap the cake in plastic and refrigerate until chilled.

Using a long serrated knife, cut the cake in half horizontally. Center the top cake layer on a plate, cut side up. Carefully remove some of the cake from the inside of the bottom portion, creating a hollow center but leaving the sides intact. Fill with natilla custard, transfer the top portion of the cake back. Now cover, refrigerate and let set for at least 1 hour. Then you can glaze the cake or just top with meringue frosting.
