I have to do a presentation on the Dominican Republic and one of the topics will be about music and dancing. One of my pictures has the following caption:
"Bachata is a slower, more sensual 4-step dance than the fast paced, 2-step merengue."
Can I get away with saying that? I know bachata is 4-step, and I know it’s sensual, but is it slower? I know the music is slower than merengue music, but is the actual dancing slower than merengue dancing??

Forget standard vs. cut time and think in terms of music the way dancers generally do: eight-counts. Not only is bachata danced to slower music, but there are actually only six steps in eight beats, vs. eight in eight for merengue.

recently in the dominican republic and a version of fifty cents "in da club" was played but it was merengue music in the background. does anybody know what this remix is called and how i can find it?
that remix is horrible and it makes fun of the old better version.
